Which board to choose from CBSE Vs ICSE to excel in competitive exam


Choosing the educational board for children is often considered a challenging activity and it often leads to confusion. There are two common Indian boards such as CBSE which is Central Board of Secondary Education and ISCE which is Indian Certificate is Secondary Education.


This board mainly prepares syllabus for the students till class 12. The syllabus is set by NCERT which is National Council of Educational Research and Training. This board conducts two examinations throughout the nation every year. It is All India Secondary School Examination for grade 10 and All India Senior School Certificate Examination for grade 12.

There are many schools who have been affiliated with the CBSE syllabus. Most of the big cities are known to have CBSE schools. Their syllabus is exceptional in terms of general subjects and general knowledge. It provides all the required basic knowledge of all the subjects that will be offered after 10th so that they can choose which one to focus upon. The board also provides assistance to the various examinations such as CAT, IIM, IIT and various other entrance examinations that are conducted on a national level and it also provides assistance to appear for the NDA, IFS, IAS, IPA, Armed forces exams etc. They focus on various extracurricular activities and these are vital for the complete growth of the child. The syllabus is usually vast.


This board was formed by University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. Every year, the council is known to conduct an all India examination for the class 10 which is called as ICSE and ISC for the class 12 students.

The board mainly focuses on building a strong foundation. This helps in enriching the confidence among the students in their higher studies. They focus immensely on the literature and language. If the children want to build up a career in the field of reading, writing, debating, talking, historians, surveying, arguing, geologist etc. Although the syllabus is vast, they provide a strong basic knowledge on all aspects.

If the children want to prepare for the competitive examinations such as IIM, IIT, CAT and All India entrance examinations. It is also beneficial for the Armed forced examinations. The syllabus is beneficial for the students who would want to go for higher education abroad. Apart from this, the verbal ability studies will also be enhanced that is beneficial for various examinations such as TOEFL, GMAT and GRE. Immense importance is given to the projects too. Projects are extremely important as they assess the marketing skills of the students. This helps students to be active and their thinking ability is also enriched.
